Restaurant
During the first few years we served our guests at our own dining room table. It allowed us to interact on a more personalized level with them, also providing them an opportunity to meet each other and exchange travel stories. It was named the “friendship table”. Today, although the restaurant has booths and individual tables, we encourage guests to continue with our tradition by meeting for dinner every night. Dinner is served between 6-7pm, and we prepare a typical Guatemalan dish with a vegetarian option. These specials need hours of preparation in advance, which is why we require reservations before 4pm.
Our breakfast menu is a la carte, with a variety of options including Guatemalan breakfast, homemade yogurt and banana pancakes. Served from 6:30am and reservations are not required. Lunch is served upon request depending on the season and the menu includes sandwiches, salad or pasta dishes. If you are headed early to Tikal before we open for breakfast, we can prepare a box lunch for you.
Rosita’s cheesecake and fresh fruit desserts are well-known. Among the selection of drinks you will find allspice tea, fresh-squeezed pink lemonade and depending on what’s in season, perhaps even Pitaya (Dragon fruit) juice.
The restaurant is open air, with a spectacular view of the garden and Lake Petén Itzá. One of the things our visitors enjoy the most is viewing the sunset from the veranda.
