By making a reservation and/or payment, you agree to our terms and conditions.
A prepaid room is reserved up to 12am (midnight) on the arrival date.
You can reserve your room by putting down a deposit of 50% of the total amount due in advance of your arrival, except during the following dates of high occupancy, when prepayment of total amount is required: 15 December to 15 January, Holy (Easter) Week, 1-15 August. An additional 20% high season charge applies during these dates.
We do not reserve rooms without prepayment. Upon receiving a reservation request, we hold rooms for a period of up to 24hrs without prepayment. If you request a reservation and do not make payment within 24hrs of the time our payment request was sent, your room will be released.
La Casa De Don David accepts payment by cash Quetzales or US Dollars, credit/debit card (VISA, MasterCard), Paypal or International Money Order. We no longer accept personal cheques.
We do not charge you a fee for using a credit card, like some other places in Guatemala do.
A debit / credit card used must have an expiry date that is valid after the date of stay.
At La Casa De Don David we operate differently from other hotels – the rates listed on this site are the best and lowest we offer. Currently they are 15-25% less than the authorized INGUAT (Guatemala Institute of Tourism) rate for our hotel. Room prices are listed in US Dollars and are valid through 2013.
Room prices are per person, per night, are inclusive of 22% tax (IVA and INGUAT) and are based on two persons per room. One meal (breakfast or dinner) is included in the room price. Drinks and desserts are not included, and all other meals and extras must be paid for separately.
If only one person occupies the room, we add $7.00 to the room price – for more details, see our Rooms + Rates pages.
La Casa De Don David reserves the right to review its prices from time to time. You will pay the room price as quoted at the point of room reservation. Note that quoted room prices at the La Casa De Don David may change up to the date of your arrival.
For details of our most current room prices please check our rooms & rates pages or contact us directly.
Modification of dates, number of nights, number of rooms reserved and early check-outs are treated as a cancellation and therefore
are subject to our cancellation policy.
If you cancel your prepaid reservations you will receive a refund under the following conditions:
- All reservations must be cancelled in writing
- 30 days or more before your reservation date, you will receive 80% of your payment
- 15-29 days before your reservation date, you will receive 50% of your payment
- 10-14 days before your reservation date, you will receive 25% of your payment
If you cancel 9 days or less before your reservation date, refunds are given only under exceptional conditions, and are subject to our approval.
5. Arrival & departure
Rooms are available from 1pm on the arrival date.
You can check in and leave your bags at the front desk/reception area any time between 6 am and 9 pm, however, please note that we
do not have lockers and accept no responsibility for the safety or security of your property. We do have a safe to keep small valuables for the duration of your stay if needed.
Please let us know if you are likely to arrive after 9pm.
Your room must be vacated by 12pm (noon) on the day of departure. Failure to leave your room by this time will result in additional charges up to and including the cost of one night’s accommodation.
6. Electricity Supply
In case of electricity failure, La Casa De Don David has a generator for temporary emergency electricity. This only supplies electricity to the restaurant and main areas, and use of a small light in the rooms. During loss of electricity, you will not have A/C, warm water or use of power outlets in the room, and the generator can be noisy for some rooms. However, we do not run the generator after 9-10 pm or before 5:30
am. Electricity failure is not frequent.
Fenced parking is provided for registered guests. Maximum capacity is for 6 vehicles and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. We do not reserve parking. We cannot be held responsible for loss or damages to your vehicle.

Although La Casa De Don David will make every possible effort to accommodate your personal requirements, all rooms are subject to
availability. We apologise in advance if your particular requests cannot be met.
